Piezo

Luca Mucci’s output as Piezo finds total solace amongst the dance crud, a multi-faceted sound chronicled with celebrated releases for Dekmantel UFO, Wisdom Teeth, Nervous Horizon and his Ansia label. His productions are characterised by their off-kilter frameworks, deft sound sculptures pirouetting through a blinding array of styles. He’s toured globally as a result, garnering a sterling reputation as a DJ and Live performer at places like Horst, Sustain Release, Dekmantel Festival, MUTEK and many more.

Milan-born and raised, Piezo’s inception came towards the tailend of dubstep. This led to a stint in Bristol where he fully immersed himself in the city’s legendary sound system culture and music community before eventually returning to Milan. His label Ansia was founded in the midst of this, a platform dedicated to wild dancefloor tools whose eight releases to date are characterised by wry humour and compositional mischievousness. Thanks to his debut LP on Hundebiss Records in 2020, he was selected for the SHAPE roster; a Creative Europe-supported platform for innovative music and audiovisual art. He also co-founded the trio Cortex Of Light who released their debut album Illuminotecnica on 3XL in 2025.

Piezo weaves all of these influences and experiences together in his notorious DJ and Live sets. Admirably brave and fearless in approach, he juggles a volley of BPMs and styles with muted flair and drama. Mixes for DJ Mag, Dekmantel and Animalia along with various recordings from Nowadays, Horst and Terraforma showcase this best.
